I am looking for work

Given the Chance is an initiative of the Brotherhood to help disadvantaged job seekers gain employment and training in a wide range of fields. We have a vast network of employers, meaning there is a huge range of roles on offer.

We support you to prepare for and gain employment, thrive in your workplace and transition between jobs.

We are a Registered Training Organisation, so we can enrol you in training and apprenticeships to help you gain skills that will help you secure employment well into the future.

Are you eligible?

Given the Chance is available for any groups facing disadvantage looking for work. This includes long-term unemployed, young and mature-aged people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, those seeking asylum, refugees, people with disability, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and other groups experiencing disadvantage.

What we can offer you

  • A field officer to support you throughout the process.
  • Training on how to look for work, apply, interview and thrive at a new workplace.
  • We work with your employer to enhance understanding and support during your employment.
  • We have a long history and partnerships with many companies and government agencies, meaning there is a variety of roles on offer.
  • We provide both short- and long-term labour hire, and apprenticeships and traineeships.
