Given the Chance's training programs are flexible and can be tailored to your needs.
The most effective way of improving the job prospects of people facing barriers to employment is to offer training and opportunities for paid work or work placements in supported environments.
While some people will be ready for employment or training right away, others will need more time and specialised support to develop the skills employers are looking for.
Training under Given the Chance takes place at our Work and Learning Centres or our training sites.
Training offers employers:
- Apprenticeships and Traineeships: our Group Training Organisation (GTO) uses the Australian apprenticeships scheme to provide intensive personal and vocational support to help trainees find and keep a mainstream job.
- Our apprenticeships offer work experience while candidates obtain a nationally recognised qualification, supervision and mentoring, training in the day-to-day tasks required of workers including hands-on skills and theoretical components. Employers also have the opportunity to be more involved in planning so that training suits their business needs and also helps their employee develop.
- Our training features personal, one-on-one support and small class sizes.
- We have strong relationships with employers, working with them to provide targeted or specialist training which leads to jobs and employment.
Training offers candidates:

- work placements for hands-on experience
- job interview training
- resume writing support
- help finding a job once you graduate.
