What makes Given the Chance a values‑aligned choice for your organisation?

For over two decades, Given the Chance has helped organisations build diverse, inclusive and resilient workforces. As a Social Enterprise of the Brotherhood of St. Laurence, we connect employers with motivated, job‑ready talent while supporting employment pathways that remove barriers and contribute to an Australia free of poverty.

Participants receive intensive, one‑to‑one support designed to promote workplace integration and retention, including guidance from a dedicated Development Coach, workplace preparation, skills development, and referrals to additional support services where needed.

We support supervisors and teams through induction and onboarding, advice on inclusive practices, access to cross‑cultural capability training, and ongoing check‑ins with a dedicated Development Coach throughout the placement.

Success means creating inclusive employment opportunities for people facing structural barriers, supporting organisations to strengthen equitable recruitment practices, and enabling secure, meaningful work that helps protect against long‑term disadvantage.

We support placements across a wide range of roles and industries. Participants are placed into positions that align with organisational needs, including operational, customer service, administration, facilities, warehousing, engineering, and more.

Simply contact our team to discuss your workforce needs and social impact goals. We’ll work with you to design next steps that support inclusive employment and deliver sustainable outcomes for your organisation.

Given the Chance is a specialist employment program and Social Enterprise. We provide tailored preparation, intensive post‑placement support, and work closely with employers to improve retention, inclusion and long‑term workforce sustainability.

Given the Chance is a National Certified Social Enterprise. Social enterprises are businesses that exist to create public or community benefit, generating revenue that is reinvested back into their mission to prioritise and embed purpose into everything they do.
